Saudi/UK SME Partnership Forum, London, 27 October
The Saudi British Joint Business Council (SBJBC) is organizing an SME Partnership Forum for Saudi and UK companies in the creative industry and digital economy sectors in London on 27 October.
Supported by Saudi British Bank (SABB) and the Council of Saudi Chambers, the forum will be held at Level 39 in Canary Wharf – Europe’s largest technology accelerator for finance, retail, cyber security and future cities.
London’s tech industry has now grown to £18billion, and tech firms in the capital secured over £1
billion in venture capital financing in 2014. Technology hubs and innovation centers in the UK regions
are so very active. The UK’s creative industries are enjoying similar successes: standing at £71 billion it is one of the UK’s most important sectors and is driving economic growth across the country.
With some 30 million consumers and a young and tech savvy population, the Saudi Arabian ICT market is the largest in the Middle East, representing 68% of the total sector in the Gulf. Liberalisation is driving competition and service levels, and ecommerce and government initiatives are being implemented. There are significant unmet demands for web based and mobile services.
The purpose of the forum will be:
· To provide a platform for companies to present projects and discuss potential partnerships
· To hear from experts and successful SMEs about the opportunities in both markets
· To make participants aware of the support available for small businesses in both markets
· To launch an online matchmaking tool to facilitate future SME partnerships.
Target sectors are the following:
· Mobile apps and digital marketing
· Retail ecommerce
· Fashion, interior and product design
Participation will be by invitation only, and interested companies or supporting organisations are requested to complete an online form to register their interest.
The SBJBC is dedicated to the development of business relations between Saudi Arabia and the UK. Membership includes over 100 large and small Saudi and UK companies from different sectors. For further details please consult www.sbjbc.org or contact:
