The report, DDoS Prevention Appliance Market Outlook, provides a comprehensive examination of the threat landscape, market drivers and solution providers. The report highlights the changing nature of today’s DDoS threat. Twenty-four months ago, the focus was on stealthy, complex application-layer attacks. In 2014, there has been a dramatic emergence of new varieties of very high volume attacks, like the DNS and NTP amplification attacks, that are pushing the boundaries of mitigation performance.
“DDoS continues to be a very resilient attack vector. Two years ago, financial services firms were dealing with sophisticated blended threats that combined application and volumetric attacks in a single, sustained campaign. This year, we are seeing a dramatic spike in very high volume attacks that take advantage of DNS and NTP amplification.
