Double awards success for IDIS video technology

Partnership and innovation pay off at Safety and Health Excellence Awards.

IDIS has achieved a double success in the hotly-contested 2019 Safety and Health Excellence Awards, winning the Security Innovation of the Year category, and receiving a special judges’ commendation for Health and Safety Project of the Year.

The annual awards are organised by Western Business Exhibitions, with the winners announced at a landmark gala dinner attended by 500 industry guests at Birmingham’s NEC.

Independent judges for the ‘Innovation of the Year for Security’ category compared products across a wide range of technologies and awarded IDIS first place for its 12MP Super Fisheye camera. Since its launch 18 months ago the Super Fisheye has become one of the company’s best-selling model.

And the commendation for the Health & Safety Project of the Year recognises IDIS’s close collaboration with integration partner ISD Tech on a major video upgrade for an NHS mental healthcare trust.

The awards, which incorporate the British Safety Industry Federation Awards, this year received more than 200 entries in 10 categories.

IDIS’s 12MP Super Fisheye camera performed particularly well because it has been developed with the needs of both installers and end-users in mind, and for everyone it delivers improved system performance and security.

For the installer it gives a better choice for wide area protection applications, including retail space, lobbies, auditoriums, corridors, open rooms and storage areas, and helps their customers to achieve more within their budgets. For the end-user it allows lower equipment costs (it can typically replace three to four fixed-lens cameras), lower installation fees, a reduced maintenance and storage burdens and affordable operation (it records the full scene without the need for an operator 24/7).

In the ‘Best Health and Safety Project’ category, IDIS entered alongside its integration partner ISD Tech. The judges’ commendation recognises their joint efforts to deliver an industry-best video surveillance solution at child and adolescent mental healthcare facilities run by the NHS.

“We are delighted our 12MP Super Fisheye has come out top in these competitive awards. This recognition marks six years of continued growth across Europe and is testament to the IDIS philosophy of customer-responsive innovation,” says James Min, Managing Director, IDIS Europe.

“It is a fantastic camera that gives integrators and end-users a whole new level of cost and performance benefits. And we are also very pleased that our commitment to close collaboration has been highly commended and that our work with integration partner ISD Tech has been publically recognised.”

IDIS is now Korea’s largest in-country video surveillance manufacturer and, since opening its European headquarters in 2013, it has established a reputation as a leading one-stop video solutions supplier and worked hard to develop sustainable partnerships with both installers, integrators and distributors.
