Oman’s Security: Canon Middle East partners with MHD
Launches nine new network cameras for the Sultanate at OFSEC 2015
Canon Middle East has announced an exclusive partnership with Mohsin Haider Darwish LLC (MHD) to cater to the security and surveillance needs of the Sultanate of Oman.
As part of the new partnership, MHD, one of Oman’s leading distributor of Security & Surveillance Solutions, will be an authorised partner for the sale of Canon’s comprehensive range of Network Visual Solutions which comprise of network cameras and network solutions in the Sultanate.
The collaboration was announced at the Oman Fire, Safety and Security Expo (OFSEC) where Canon also launched nine new network cameras which are ideal for both indoor and outdoor environments, including retail, city surveillance and critical infrastructure monitoring. The cameras are the first infrared (IR) based fixed box cameras featuring a 2.4x zoom lens and an ultra-wide 113.4º angle of view for high quality imaging day or night. Alongside cameras, Canon Middle East also unveiled the new end to end solutions using Milestone and Nedap Video Management Software.
According to a recent research by G4S, the Middle East has evolved to be the most vibrant safety and security market in the world. The rapid pace of economic and infrastructural development has caused the market to achieve a growth rate of over 10 % annually, since 2012. In Oman, there is a great demand for security equipment, ranging across diverse sectors but particularly from the government, hospitality and retail sectors.

The Canon cameras are designed to maximize flexibility for end-users and are integrated with more than 40 of the top video management softwares (VMS), significantly enhancing Canon’s software capabilities.
